The contemporary labor market creates challenges for employers who experienceinsufficient labor supply. There are many reasons for this situation, and one of them isa large group of professionally inactive people. There are people with disabilities amongthem. It is assumed that moving these people to the professionally active group may becaused not only by macroeconomic and macro-social activities but also by the initiativeof an employer implementing social innovations. The purpose of the article is to identifysocial innovation thus increasing the availability of jobs for the disabled in Poland,to determine their types, as well as to determine the process of creating social innovation.
