The article is a contribution to taking a stand in the discussion about the place of intelligent technological solutions in logistics management and supply chain management. On the basis of the theory, the aim of the article was determined to indicate changes in the management centre on the strategic level in the supply chain management. Areas of changes in logistics management due to the use of intelligent technologies were indicated. The role of intelligent logistic applications in managing the contemporary supply chain as a result of changing the classical approach to management towards changes in competences of managers at the strategic level in the supply chain has been defined. The assumptions determining the supremacy of managing the contemporary supply chain over the classical approach to logistics management in the light of intelligent logistics were also established.
