The total of 1368 phytosociological surveys of grain and root crops was used to determine habitat conditions in soils belonging to different agricultural complexes according to the method of Ellenberg. The conditions prevailing in the soil-agricultural complexes result from effects of many factors, as indicate.d by different values for T, W, R, N, and G, for the individual complexes, In addition, internal variability of the above habitat conditions in the individual complexes, is affected by physiographic situation of the studied units
