The object of the studies in 1977 was a population of 15 F1 hybrids, 11 F2 progenies, 16 parental forms (8 malesterile A lines and 3 inbred C lines). Heterosis of onion bulb weight, height, diameter was high. The heterosis of bulb firmness, skin adherence and sugar content was not high. The heterosis of other characteristics was rather low
