Application of gibberellin and cytokinin in crown formation of apple trees

Lanolin paste containing a mixture of gibberellin and cytokinin was smeared in February and March on the 8 buds chosen to form scaffold branches. The treated buds developed 5-10 days earlier than those smeared with lanolin alone. They formed shoots longer than those of the control trees. The applied growth regulators had no influence upon the crotch angles
