The aim of this article is to infer an initial agenda in Brazil for research into Top Management as a Strategic Resource, from selected academic works. A brief description of methodological procedures was included, followed by the revision of the contribution by Donald Hambrick, a renowned authority in the field. A set of propositions was inferred, which could orient future research, global discussions and conclusions. This is a descriptive research study, based on a bibliographic review. From 57 referenced articles, 31 were selected. On the basis of this study, a Brazilian research agenda with nine lines of study was proposed: tenure versus performance; compensation, strategic choices and organizational results; Brazilian companies problems versus foreign companies' problems; CEO characteristics and their decisions; succession issues; size and profitability versus compensation; tenure and status quo defense; TMT heterogeneity and decision taking; narcissistic CEO profile, decisions and performance.
