In this article we reconsider the manner of teaching the concept of structure of substance in order to improve the teaching performance of chemistry teachers. In order to achieve this goal we modify the habitual, static presentation of substance to relate it to thermodynamic and kinetic aspects. In this way we facilitate a better understanding of the chemical change.
