Oni svakako trebajuuključivati i poboljšanje prometne dostupnosti.Žumberak has recorded depopulation processes in the pasteight decades. A complete demographic breakdown ofŽumberak happened in the second half of the twentiethcentury. That period in Croatia was marked by urban-basedindustrialization on one hand and deagrarization andderuralization on the other hand. In those circumstances,socio-geographic transformation failed in Žumberak.Modernization processes in the cities, in combination withtheir absence in Žumberak, have made Žumberakunattractive for living. In the second half of the twentiethcentury, emigration led Žumberak to the verge of extinction. In this paper, methods of demographic statistics and GISanalysis of transport accessibility are used in combinationwith the application of graph theory in the analysis of thetransport network of the researched area. The results of theresearch suggest the conclusion that the revitalization ofŽumberak is only possible with considerable materialinvestments in the framework of well-elaborated and well--designed development plans. They should certainly includetransport accessibility improvement
