Inequalities of the ratios of Whittaker function, which include in its fold inequalities of a large class of special functions, are obtained. In the sequel inequalities of the ratios of Bessel functions of 2nd kind and inequalities of the ratios $ J_v(x) / Y_v(x) $ are also derived. Finally, we point out some correction which appear in the paper of Joshi and Bissu (J. Aust. Math. Soc., Ser. A. 50(1991), 333-342)
