Cerebrovascular Diseases During Pregnancy and Postpartum Period

Ischemic infarcts and hemorrhages are rare but dangerous complications that can be seen during pregnancy and the postpartum period. Parity, number of abortion, timing of presentation of pregnancy and the postpartum period, risk factors associated with pregnancy (eclampsia, pre-eclampsia), risk factors unrelated to pregnancy and clinical conditions of cases were researched. Ages ranged from 23 to 35 years, and the average was 28,7 years. 6 patients were pregnant, 4 patients were postpartum period. 3 patients were in the last trimester, 2 were second trimester, 1 was first trimester. 1 patient was first pregnancy, other 9 patients were multiparous. Cerebral hemorrhage was found in 2 patients, 2 patients had venous sinus thrombosis (VST), 6 patients had ischemic arterial infarction. 1 patient was ex in the early period, others were discharged. Coagulopathy disorder was found in 5 patients, 1 patient was cardiac embolism, pregnancy-related risk factors were identified in 2 patients, but etiology was not found in 2 patients. In this article, we have been reviewed demographic characteristics of patients who suffering from CVD during pregnancy and the postpartum period
