The present paper focuses on the second book of poetry by the Bulgarian poet Georgi Rupchev – Change of the Night Guard (1986), and more specifically – on the perception of time and space which construct Rupchev’s poetic world. The text attempts to distinguish between the various manifestations of time and space in order to differentiate a common model of their poetic usage. The analysis also touches on their nature (how specific or abstract they are), their role in the poems, their connection with other themes and motifs in the poet’s work as well as their importance for the composition of the book.
