- Fractures of the distal end humerus possess a challenge owing to unique anatomical features and dearth for its approach. Pre-countoured locking compression plates have more benefits than the conventional plating systems. The aim of this study was to determine the functional outcome of Extra-articular distal Locking compression plate in distal humeral shaft fractures. Material and Methods-47 patients with closed distal third humerus fracture were treated with plating between July 2012 and Aug 2014. The Inclusion criteria were patients with closed distal third extra–articular humerus fractures. Polytrauma, intra-articular fractures and patients with prior radial nerve involvement were excluded from the study. Results- The mean age of the patient was 40±2 years. 36 (76.5%) cases had road traffic accident, 8 (17.02%) had domestic fall while 3 (6.38%) had an assault. 12-A was the commonest fracture pattern as per the AO classification system. Average duration of surgery was 94±10 mins. Majority of the fractures united at 13±06 weeks (
