The study examined the performance features of the romance of the outstanding composer Vasif Adygezalov “Carnation” in the interpretation of the Honored Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Nazarov. It should be noted that the romance was first performed with a countertenor voice. This led to different performance principles. Thus, I.Nazarov combined the features of the countertenor voice technique and the Azerbaijani vocal school.
