Este trabalho cuida das categorias discursivas da obra A Jangada de Pedra, de José Saramago, especialmente da espacialização, sob o ponto de vista da semiótica greimasiana. Verificam-se no romance as situações espaciais geradas pela ruptura da Península Ibérica, pela viagem que esta irrompe mar afora e a conseqüente demarcação de novos espaços.This paper is about discursive categories, specially space, in the work The Stone Raft, by José Saramago, from the perspective of Greimas’s semiotic theory. Space situations are verified in the novel, which are created by the rupture of the Iberian Peninsula, by the trip it makes through the wide ocean and the consequent demarcation of new spaces
