Velhas benzedeiras

This article is about the permanence of blessings practiced by elderly women residents on the coast of Paraná. Through oral history, four women spoke about their lives and their craft, allowing thinking both about the blessing and aging today. They believe they have received a "divine gift" and devote much of their time and energy to cure diseases, ailments of body and soul. Through their voices, I found the possibility of registering an activity that is part of the immaterial culture and that may disappear in many places. Moreover, these women's way of life reinforces the assertion that aging in the XXI century includes multiple practices and expressions
