Fases da história da fotografia e a questão da aura, segundo Walter Benjamin

This article addresses the periods in the history of photography proposed by Walter Benjamin in his essay A Short History of Photography, and discusses the transformation suffered by the work of art in modern times, under ther concept of aura. The periodization established by Benjamin - heydey, decline, revival - is illustrated with works from photographers referred to by the author in his text, which amis to achieve a “real understanting of the essence of the photographic art.”Este artigo aborda as fases da história da fotografia propostas por Walter Benjamin, no ensaio Pequena História da Fotografia, e discute as transformações que atingiram a obra de arte na modernidade, à luz do conceito de aura. A periodização estabelecida por Benjamin - apogeu, declínio, revitalização - é ilustrada com trabalhos dos fotógrafos referidos pelo autor no texto em que visa à “compreensão real da essência da arte fotográfica”
