As novas mídias e manifestações de protesto: casos no Brasil e Egito

The purpose of this article is to analyze the contribution of new media, the communicational interaction and the relation between the protest demonstrations against the decision of Egypt’s President, Hosni Mubarak, of controlling the internet in his country, and the protest marches of families and friends of victims of the urban violence in Brazil. To achieve this aim, images of three cases that occurred in Brazilian big cities are objects of study, in which the protesters were showing off photos of the absent person printed in T-shirts, and images of protesters against the policy of internet control adopted by the Egyptian President.A proposta deste artigo é analisar a contribuição das novas mídias, a interação comunicacional e a relação existente entre as manifestações de protesto contrárias à decisão do presidente do Egito, Hosni Mubarak, de controlar a internet no país, e as manifestações de familiares e amigos de vítimas de violência urbana no Brasil. Para concretizar esta relação, são objetos de estudo desta análise imagens de três casos ocorridos em grandes cidades brasileiras, nos quais os manifestantes exibiam a fotografia do ser ausente, impressa em camisetas, e imagens de manifestantes oposicionistas à política de controle da internet do presidente egípcio
