The city of Criciúma was for decades known as the mineral coal capital in Brazil. It was also known for the strong organization of workers in coal mines. With the military coup of 1964 hundreds of criciumenses citizens (or living in coalfield) were arrested by the dictatorship accused of Communists, and conspiracy against the "revolution." So, this study sought written as if sued the coup in Criciuma, attempts at resistance especially in miners' union and diffusing radio. He sought to address the performance of the Operation Green Belly and finally point to the concerns of the dominant sectors of the city especially the miners with the workers, and which culminated in the installation of GAC 28th Field Artillery Group in 1977
