Study on the concept of past and historical significance by history teachers from high school in Curitiba, Parana / Brazil and the concept of past presented in the textbooks received from the High School National Textbook Program (PNLEM/2008). To examine the ideas related to the past concept of teachers and textbooks, this study conducts documentary research and empirical. Applies a preliminary questionnaire for collecting information on the process of choosing history textbook for high school and who makes the selection of textbooks used in high schools. Also a structured questionnaire was applied with questions on semantic differential scales and multiple choice to analyze data on the work of history’s teacher at public schools in the state of Parana, what the concept these teachers about the past and the concept o f past presents in History textbook.
