This paper presents the routes and museum institutionalization\udprocesses within institutions whose core business is not the museum. Brasilia, being\udthe federal capital hosts a number of different natures institutions, as noted, has\udinstituted memory spaces in its structure. For this, we chose a particular institution: the\udFederal Audit Court.\udObjective: The objective of this research is to ascertain the nature of the processes\udthat engendered the TCU museums in an institution whose purpose is not the museum.\udMethodology: For this, we research and analyze existing documents in the Court of\udAuditors, as well as interviews were collected with ministers, employees and former\udemployees of that court, totaling 11 interviews semi-structured nature.\udResults: The research has enabled us to introduce the institutionalization of an\udinformation management structure at TCU that began with the structure of the body of\udthe file; the next three decades witnessed the empowerment of a library for the organ\udand in the 1970s the TCU Museum\udConclusions: Through researched documentation and collected interviews, we\udobserved that both file and the library were created as unfolding of the need for\udorganization and retrieval of information, in view of the final activities of that Court. At\udthe time, institutionalized to the information processing process of registration and\udorgan memory that culminates in the creation of the Museum
