The State is an entity of extreme importance for the man in its social coexistence and, before that, need that its real need is verified. After knowing the State, the man will understand the vindictive of its origin, action, maintenance and purpose. To verify the need of the State and to understand its relationship with the society is very important so that it serves to your invigoration, the problems that cannot to subvert pointing. Departing of the life hypothesis without the State, it ar- rives to the verifications that the man doesn’t get, or it is it difficult, to link healthily with its fellow creatures without that fundamental entity. With the development of the article, it was verified that the State tutors the security to the fundamental rights, facilitating that the other civil rights are implemented. In the same way, it was ve- rified that the State represents its citizen’s interest, combating the diverse interests that they can commit its order. It ends, therefore, that the State is indispensable for the man in its social coexistence.O Estado é uma entidade onipresente para o homem em sua convivência social e, diante disso, mister que seja verificada a sua real necessidade. Após conhecer o Estado, o homem entenderá a justificativa de sua origem, ação, manutenção e finalidade. Verificar a necessidade do Estado e entender sua relação com a sociedade é muito importante para que sirva ao seu fortalecimento, apontando os problemas que o possam subverter. Partindo da hipótese de vida sem o Estado, chega-se às constatações de que o homem não consegue, ou lhe é dificultoso, relacionar-se com seus semelhantes sadiamente sem essa entidade. Com o desenvolvimento do presente artigo, constatou-se que o Estado tutela a segurança aos direitos fundamentais, possibilitando que os demais direitos civis sejam implementados. Da mesma forma, constata-se que o Estado representa o interesse de seus cidadãos, devendo combater os interesses diversos que possam comprometer sua ordem. Conclui-se, portanto, que o Estado é imprescindível para o homem na sua convivência social
