Hypselistes paludicola Tullgren, 1955 was mentioned only a few times in the literature since its description. After examination of the holotype, it can be concluded that Hypselistes paludicola Tullgren, 1955 is a junior synonym of Trichopternoides thorelli (Westring, 1861) syn. nov
