The paper describes a method for the computation of microwave absorption co-efficients in the atmosphere due to ram and cloud. The absorption Coefficients due to cloud at 19.35 GHz. for different liquid water content of the cloud at different temperatures are presented. In the case of rain the dominant droplet size have been assumed to be small so as to neglect the effect of scattering. The absorption coefficient at the same frequency due to rain has been calculated for a Marshal-Palmer drop size distribution and empirical relationship between rainfall parameter and total water content of the rain mass.
