. Static stability measure (a) plays an important role in the construction of dynamic models for numerical weather prediction. In the present study, monthly normal values of a have been computed or different levels of the atmosphere for 14 radiosonde stations In India. It has also been computed for a few depressions/storms and the values compared to the normal values. Vertical, horizontal and seasonal variations of a have also been discussed.
