The October-November storms and depressions of the period 1950-1968 in the Bay of Bengal have been classified in to three district classes based on their tracks. Certain district synoptic features associated with each of these classes as observed at the time of formation of the depression or storm in the Bay, in extended charts covering the Indian region and West Pacific Ocean west of 150' E have been listed and their validity in individual cases examined.
