The article focuses on an interesting discovery in the immediate vicinity of the Roman city of Napoca, next to the Roman road connecting the city to the settlements located eastward, and in the context of a funerary area. The fragmentary skeleton of a lamb of 1.5 – 2 months was discovered within a sarcophagus with flat lid and without any decoration. It seems that we deal here with an interesting type of cenotaph. The funeral inventory was poor, consisting of two lead objects. A ceramic bowl was also deposited near the sarcophagus.
