Bacalhau e sardinha servidos com humor em folhetos portugueses do final do Antigo Regime

After reflecting on Literature as a historical source, namely its scope and limits, we seek, based on five portuguese humorous leaflets from the end of the Ancien Régime, to understand how cod and sardines were understood in the daily lives of populations. The paper also aims analises how these literary sources are importants, compared with several others, in order to corroborate the information, to evaluate the valour of this texts.
