As part of its multiple activities, the World Society for Ekistics organizes a series of annual meetings which consist of:
An Executive Council Meeting
A C.A. Doxiadis Lecture
A Symposion on a theme corresponding to its program of priorities, and
A General Assembly of members
At the 2000 meetings in Čelákovice, Czech Republic, the General Assembly expressed interest in having the 2001 meetings in Berlin. In response, the President, Professor Udo E. Simonis, extended an invitation to the Society to hold the meetings on the premises of the Science Center Berline on 24-28 October.
