O artigo busca resumir algumas possibilidades de pesquisa sobre as emoções tristes e, em particular, sobre a depressão. Também objetiva mostrar algumas tendências historiográficas sobre as emoções e as sensibilidades, assim como suas contribuições para a compreensão do tema da tristeza. Busca, enfim, indicar como a tendência atual em medicalizar os sentimentos incorporou os tratamentos sobre a depressão e, igualmente, sobre a obesidade.This article intends to summarize some possibilities for research on sad feelings and, in particular, depression. It also aims to show some historiographical trends on emotions and sensibilities as well as their contributions to understanding the theme of sadness. Finally, it indicates how the current trend in medicalizing feelings has incorporated treatments on depression and also on obesity.
