In 2012, the Wisconsin Humane Society Wildlife Rehabilitation Center built a raptor flight cage that utilized a metal carport kit as its framework. This describes the purchase, delivery, site preparation, and assembly of the prefabricated carport kit, and modifications Center staff made to the kit in order to convert it into a raptor flight cage. The author has found the use of a prefabricated carport kit as the framework for a raptor flight cage to be a practical, cost–effective method of building a structure of this type.
