The author is writing this short article relative to the reprinted article Pain Management in Wildlife Rehabilitation by Dr. Trudi Chepey that appeared in Volume 22, No. 2, Fall/Winter 2004 issue of the Wildlife Rehabilitation Bulletin. Dr. Chepey is to be applauded for raising awareness amongst rehabilitators of the issue of pain management in wildlife species. It is very important to reinforce some of the points made by Dr. Chepey in her article relating to the adverse effects and precautions that need to be considered with many pharmaceuticals that have analgesic actions.
