Maulana Mohammad Ali Jouhar (1878 1931) is a towering personality of the history of Indian subcontinent during last two hundred years. He was a multi-faceted person and a true leader of Muslims of subcontinent having strong compassion and sincerity for Muslim Ummah globally. He was a great orator, poet, scholar, journalist, politician and a freedom fighter having exceptional command over both Urdu and English languages. He pioneered a mass movement in India for the preservation of Khilafat in Turkey as a symbol of unity and the glorious past of Muslim Ummah, and made tremendous sacrifices while protesting against British colonial rule in India. This paper is a tribute to this great personality based on extensive research on his achievements and the recognition he received for his devotion to Muslim causes.
