In His time on earth, Jesus Christ introduced, taught, and practiced a model of leadership that had excellence. For Jesus, a leader is a servant, so leadership is the same as a ministry, not power. This research will examine the characteristics of the servant leadership of Jesus according to Philippians 2: 5-8. According to researchers, the analysis of the text of Philippians 2: 5-8 is very precise because the context in the Philippians at that time was a threat of enmity and division. This is the background of the writing of Philippians, especially Philippians chapter 2 where Paul wanted them to remain united and humble themselves like Christ. Because by not being selfish, humble, having servant character, and being willing to be led well, it is Paul's hope that the Philippians will remain strong and steadfast. The approach used in this research is qualitative, by applying the descriptive analysis method to the text of Philippians 2: 5-8, which results in three characteristics of the servant leadership of Jesus Christ, namely the willingness to lose rights, the humility of Jesus, and the obedience of Jesus.AbstrakDalam masa hidup-Nya di bumi, Yesus Kristus memperkenalkan, mengajarkan, dan mempraktikkan sebuah model kepemimpinan yang memiliki keunggulan. Bagi Yesus, pemimpin adalah seorang hamba atau pelayan, sehingga kepemimpinan sama dengan sebuah pelayanan, bukan kekuasaan. Pada penelitian ini akan diteliti karakteristik kepemimpinan hamba dari Yesus menurut Filipi 2:5-8. Menurut peneliti, analisa terhadap teks Filipi 2:5-8 sangat tepat karena konteks dalam jemaat Filipi pada waktu itu terjadi ancaman perseteruan dan perpecahan. Hal ini yang melatarbelakangi penulisan surat Filipi, khususnya Filipi pasal 2 dimana Paulus ingin mereka tetap bersatu dan merendahkan diri seperti Kristus. Sebab dengan tidak saling mementingkan diri sendiri, rendah hati, memiliki karakter hamba, dan bersedia dipimpin dengan baik, maka harapan Paulus, jemaat Filipi ini tetap dapat kuat dan teguh. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif, dengan menerapkan metode deskriptif analisis pada teks Filipi 2:5-8, yang menghasilkan tiga karakteristik dalam kepemimpinan hamba dari Yesus Kristus, yaitu kerelaan untuk kehilangan hak, kerendahan hati Yesus, dan ketaatan Yesus.
