The orthoclad Thalassosmittia amazonica n. sp. is described based on a male collected in a light trap in the Amazon rainforest. The species is easily separated from its congeners as it has a strongly reduced palp with only a single palpomere.Article submitted 12. October 2014, accepted 10. November 2014, published 22.
