The environmental condition of technogenic areas of Lviv-Volyn basin has been assessed. The potential values of coal production waste have been identified and the main sources of soil and water pollution have been indicated. The examples and the causes of negative influence of toxic components on population health have been given. The prospects of decontamination projects and investments have been indicated.
