This paper presents some of the software techniques used in astronomy to detect celestial bodies near the Earth, called NEO bodies, Near Earth Object, including NEA asteroids, Near Earth Asteroids. The software and utilities created or only used in the research projects coordinated by the EURONEAR consortium were Astrometrica and Nearby, respectively among the utilities necessary for the new asteroid detections were Asteroids Identifications, Astrocheck, Nea Checker, Neo Checker-MPC, Find Orb Project Pluto-MPC, Minor Planet Center. Packages of images were taken through the ING Telescope in the Canary Islands, La Palma, Spain. These software techniques were implemented and tested at the University of Craiova, in research projects and through students of the Faculty of Sciences.
