The process of conducting regular astronomical observations in antiquity is often difficult to recover according to archeology and other branches of science. Heavenly bodies, first of all the Sun and the Moon, and also constellations, were component parts of the Sky cult, which caused necessity to learn more about them and to coordinate peoples’ lives with their basic rhythms. This article has classified and briefly reviewed the main ancient astropoints of Sayan-Altai, which can be considered as predecessors of astronomical observatories.
