Mirohelminthosporium is proposed as a new genus for Helminthosporium bigenum , characterized by polytretic and blastic conidial ontogeny on the apical conidiogenous cells. A replacement name, Helminthosporium matsushimae , is proposed for the illegitimate later homonym H. cylindrosporum Matsush.
