The article is devoted to the conceptual consideration of the formation and development of the theory of transport conflicts in the transport process. The early studies oftransport conflicts by foreign scientists are shown. The authors come to the conclusion that traffic conflicts depend on the psychophysiology of road users, which must be taken into account in the psychology of traffic conflicts.
