Translators face many complications, due to the difference in languages, religion, customs and culture. This article deals with the two strategies of translation i.e. foreignization and domestication. They both were adopted in the English translation of Holy Quran by Marmaduke Picktall, Abdullah Ali and Talal Itani, while in Urdu translation Ashraf Ali Thanwi and Ahmed Ali used these in translating specific words of Holy Quran. The purpose of this paper is to investigate that to what extent the translators have succeeded in achieving equivalence in their translations. The theoretical framework used is Venuti’s model of domestication and foreignization. The findings will be beneficial for the students and the practitioners in the field of translation.
