Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF),caused by a tick-borne virus (Nairovirus), is azoonotic viral disease that is asymptomatic ininfected animals, but a serious threat tohumans. 1 Human infections begin withnonspecific febrile symptoms, but progress to aserious hemorrhagic syndrome with a high casefatality rate (10 - 40%)2. It is one of the mostwidely distributed viral hemorrhagic feversoccurring in parts of Africa, Middle East, Asiaand Europe3. The occurrence of this virus iscorrelated with the distribution of Hyalommaspecies.4
