Tuberculosis (TB) is a chronic communicabledisease that ranks second as the leading cause ofdeath from a single infectious agent.Themortality rate of TB has steadily decreased by45% since 1990 as more aggressive andcomprehensive plans were adopted worldwide.However, despite all the possible measures tofight against TB, its global burden remains thesame. According to the World HealthOrganization (WHO) report in 2014, TBinfected 9 million people with 1.5 milliondeaths 1. As Effective programmatic directlyobserved treatment DOTS resulted in asignificant high cure rate of drug sensitive TB,drug resistant TB (DR-TB) has gained muchmore importance worldwide.
