Este artigo apresenta o resultado de um estudo piloto realizado com dois alunos durante uma aula de leitura. Trabalhando em par numa atividade de leitura colaborativa, os alunos tiveram a chance de compartilhar um com o outro informações preciosas para a compreensão do texto, bem como de desenvolver estratégias mediadoras que, acreditamos, podem colaborar para a aprendizagem de L2. The aim of this article is to present the result of a reading experience with a pair of students during an English class. By working together, students could develop mediating strategies, which, we believe, will help them be better learners and better users of the L2 they are learning
