This article includes the final results obtained through the research of undergraduate research entitled “Gênero e Crítica Social em As Meninas de Lygia Fagundes Telles”. As the title suggests, the both themes that guide this study were the investigation of sociological factors and studies related to gender inserted in Telle’s novel. There are as part of the referential, concepts developed by Lucáks (2011); Candido (2005); Beauvoir (1949); Judith Butler (2003); Moreira Alves; Pitanguy (2003). This search is aggregated to the main project named “A ficção produzida por escritoras de Língua Portuguesa” developed by The Centre of Linguistic and Literary Studies UPE–CELLUPE–with the financinc provided by PIBIC/CNPq
