The intense language contact between the Guajajara and the Portuguese has triggered in making lexical loans of the Portuguese language, presenting cases of phonetic-phonological adaptation to the indigenous language and in others without any adaptation, in other words, writing and pronunciation remain as the Portuguese language. Therefore, our goal in this article is to identify and describe what kind of phonetic-phonological adaptation has occurred in the Portuguese loan words, which phonemes of the Guajajara language have been adapted these words and which native speakers have been most frequent this type of loan adapted. For this research we based ourselves in Contact Linguistics, whose main precursors Weinreich (1953), Carvalho (1989), Thomason (2001), among others. The methodology used was interviews, previously prepared word lists, speech recordings of events, considering ethnographic \udand sociolinguistic methods that made it possible to characterize the list of Portuguese loans
