The Lya Luft’s masterpice “O rio do meio” (1996) is discussed through the revealing narrative of the feminist subject transformations and of act’s creation. A perspective of the construction of the self in feminism is drawn, which can be identified by the reader through the narrator’s voice and his relationship with the possible selves. After analyzing several nuances as sumed by self of the narrator, the way how it is told was discussed, in a dialectical relationship, based on Hegel and the reception of Wolfgang Iser and Paul Ricoeur. The problem approach, made by a narrative characterized by the choice of a woman’s view, related to the women's studies critical and linked to Claudia de Lima Costa, Rita Terezinha Schmidt, Vera Queiroz and Maria Célia Detoni, among others
