For CSP (C.S.Peirce) the appearance of the printing press in the 16th-century means that Anglo-Saxon, a fundamentally phonetic written system, evolves into two radically different languages: written English with fixed spelling rules, and the spoken idiom depending on the idiosyncratic particularities of the speakers. Such spoken practices give way to the creative process of conversationalism. This article argues that CSP’s use of the term twitter must be understood in this context, as related to the “winged words” of Homeric language.Para CSP (C.S.Peirce) la difusión de la imprenta en el XVI da lugar a que la lengua anglo-sajona, básicamente fonética, evolucione hacia dos idiomas radicalmente diferentes: el inglés escrito, basado en una ortografía estable, y el hablado, en torno a la idiosincrasia fonética. Este último da lugar a la creatividad del conversacionalismo. En este artículo se argumenta que la mención del término twitter por CSP hay que entenderlo en este contexto en el sentido de las palabras aladas del lenguaje homérico
