The environmental conditions and lifestyle of children in rural and urban areas are significantly different. The influence of environmental factors, different levels of physical activity, social living conditions, and other factors determine the different level of functional and morphological features of the growing organism. The search for ways to improve the health of the child population is an urgent area. The article presents the data of comparative evaluation of the functional capabilities of the respiratory system of students in rural and urban schools. The results of the study demonstrate the predominance of Vital capacity of light indicators among schoolchildren of rural schools. The level of the general condition of oxygen supply systems is also higher among children living in rural areas. It is necessary to study the specific factors of the external environment and lifestyle that have a significant impact on the respiratory system of children.
