A questionnaire developed by the authors was completed by 75 experienced speech-language pathologists from varied work settings. Questions dealt with knowledge, attitudes and experience in the area of oral myofunctional disorders. Only 18 respondents listed their classroom instruction in this area as adequate; only six rated their practicum experience as adequate. In spite of the limited training reported by the clinicians, 32% were actively providing treatment for clients with oral myofunctional disorders. There was general agreement concernlng the importance of training in this area."
