Resumo: O presente artigo tem como proposta compreender as práticas pedagógicas dos professores de uma escola bilíngue da Região Metropolitana do Recife, numa turma de 1º ano do Ensino Fundamental, a fim de identificar seus efeitos em relação ao ensino/aprendizagem inicial de duas línguas. Tendo em vista que a procura pela educação bilíngue tem aumentado e pelo fato de ainda ser um campo de estudo considerado recente e limitado, no que se refere ao processo de alfabetização. Buscamos analisar e refletir acerca da aquisição e construção das habilidades de leitura e escrita nas duas línguas (Português/Inglês). Dessa forma, mediante uma pesquisa de campo, observamos, coletamos e analisamos os dados, obtendo como resultado evidências de práticas pedagógicas positivas que contribuem para a construção da aprendizagem em crianças que aprendem as duas línguas simultaneamente.

Abstract: This article aims to understand teacher practices of a bilingual school in the metropolitan region of Recife, in a 1st grade classroom, in order to identify the impacts in relation to the initial teaching/learning of two languages. Given that the demand for bilingual education has increased and is still a recent and limited field of study regarding the literacy process. We seek to analyze and reflect about the acquisition and construction of reading and writing skills in both languages (Portuguese/English). Thus, through field survey, we observe, collect and review the data, finding instructional practices that positively impact on the construction of learning in children who are exposed to learn both languages simultaneously.
